Hello! I am so excited to be one of the newest members of Eanes ISD and the Forest Trail Community. I can’t wait to meet all of my third grade students and get to know the many faces and families that make Forest Trail such a wonderful place.
Let me tell you a little about myself and how my journey brought me to Forest Trail.
I was born on Tinker AFB, my father served in the Air Force. I am the oldest of four children. We lived in Oklahoma and Kansas before settling in my mother’s hometown of Lindsay, Texas. It was a small town and I LOVED it, I completed grades 5-12 in Lindsay. In our small town the community was strong, many of my teachers taught my mother as well, and left an impression on my life. I had the opportunity to try many activities UIL, Cross Country, Track, Drill Team, FFA, FCCLA, and most surprisingly and memorable, Powerlifting.
After high school graduation I attended Texas A&M University, WHOOP! I earned a Bachelors of Science in Architecture. All through college I considered changing my major to education. I had spent years in high school and college babysitting, nannying, teaching swim lessons, volunteering for Bible School, etc. I felt I was being called to serve our children, our future. So, following graduation I moved to Houston and completed the necessary courses to earn my teaching certificate.
On June 11, 2011, I was married to my wonderful husband. Shortly after we moved to Keller, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth. I completed my student teaching within Keller ISD and was then hired on as a Kindergarten teacher. I spent four years teaching Kindergarten at Eagle Ridge Elementary. During those years I met so many fabulous children and their families that touched my heart. My husband and I also welcomed our first child during those years, Lane Allen was born on November 9, 2015. He is such a blessing to our lives. He is kind, gentle, and so fun to watch grow!
In June 2016 our family moved to Bee Cave, Texas. I spent the year teaching second grade in Marble Falls. Marble Falls is such a unique, little town, it was a great experience!
Our family grew again this June, Levi Paul was welcomed to the world on June 1, 2017. He has been such a sweet baby! A great eater and sleeper, what more could we ask for? Lane has taken on the role of big brother and is rocking it!
After living in the area for a year I heard so many fabulous things about Eanes ISD, the community, students, families, ethics, etc. I decided this is where I would like to continue my career. I have been blessed along my journey and am optimistic/anticipating about the next chapter in my professional career.
I am so thrilled to be joining, yet again, a close knit and strong community! Eanes has already been so welcoming and I am looking forward to many years building relationships and making memories!
Here’s to a wonderful year at Forest Trail!
